His parents have given him the most important thing, support and courage to pursue his dreams. This is his third year with us and in his previous years he was the king of the mountain in the Clásica de Soacha and the Clásica Rubén Darío Gómez. During the Clásica Rubén Darío Gómez, he also finished second in the general classification and he won the time-trial stage in the Clásica Esteban Chaves where he placed in the first three in the general classification.

BRAYAM USAQUÉN

He is an affectionate, kind, grateful young man. He goes through his first year on the FUN Team. His goal is to be a World Tour cyclist. He has four brothers. Thanks to Jhon, the eldest, he discovered the wonderful world of the bike. Together, with the residents of the neighborhood, they went out to ride in the block, to walk the platforms as if they were tracks. Thus, at 5 years of age, the idyll began that has made him a wise man of cycling. Before joining our squad, he participated in the Monserrate Club.
Playing soccer, sharing with his family and reading and having adventures through books are plans that he enjoys a lot. He admires Gabriel García Márquez. The Smell of the Guava is one of the favorite books. He admires his parents: Gladys, a housewife, and Antonio José, a construction worker. Both have taught him the importance of respect, effort and tenacity. He loves cycling because it challenges him daily and allows him to appreciate the landscapes of his beloved land, Colombia. In the team he has delved into technique, strategy and the use of technology to his benefit.

DANIEL ALFONSO ZORRO
“I’m very happy in the FUN team. I had never received this kind of support. Physiotherapist, assistants, we have a complete structure. I have found support and professionalism“
His second home is Boyacá. All his family is from Turmequé. There he learned how to work in the country and also how to ride a bike, both his greatest passions. Aware and generous, he received his first bike as a Christmas gift. The bike was smaller than the Christmas tree but bigger than any other desire. From the work in the country he learned that in life, things are achieved with great effort, discipline and grit. He is the oldest of his other two siblings and this is his first year at FUN which for now, he describes as an enriching experience.
He is now a junior in High school. He is a good student. His favorite subjects are Spanish, social science and natural science. He strongly believes that sports have to be complemented with education. One of his biggest goals is to go to University and become an agro-engineer. In cycling his goal is to ride abroad and support his parent, Martha and Uriel and his grandparents to improve their living conditions.

DAVID VALERO
“Confidence, power and security. These three words motivate me. Many times, when I need a boost I repeat them one and many times in my head. They have helped me to leave my fears aside and 2018 I set a new beginning in my life“
His grandfather, Don German, taught him how to ride a bike when he was little. He also used to invite Duván to ride with him during the weekends until he felt in love with the sport. He is an introvert, positive and kind person. He lives with his mother, step farther and younger brother. He likes to take pictures of landscapes, ride horse and cook. He even sells desserts. His specialty is the Maracuyá sponge cake. The feeling of freedom and peace generated by cycling is untradeable for him and he is starting his path in road cycling.
He always had practiced mountain bike and participated in the Pan-American games celebrated in Pereira in 2018 with the Instituto Municipal de Deporte. However, one year after the Pan-American Games, he switched to read cycling and in 2019 he joined FUN Team. Since the trail outs he feels he has enhanced his performance. Additionally, he became more responsible and punctual, he stated. His dream is to become a professional cyclist and race on of the major races in the circuit and help his family and all the people who is needed.

DUVAN CAMILO AGUILAR
“I believe that in life you have to fight to be able to achieve what you wish. Good things hace a price and with sacrifice you can achieve it. I dream with making my way to Europe and participate in the most prestigious races in the world“
He is very thankful for being part of this project supported by one of his role models, Esteban Chaves. He feels very welcome and supported by the FUN structure. He loves the Gran Fondo Esteban Chaves and all the medical area of FUN. When he was four years old, he jumped for the first time in a bike and since then, his life changed. His passion for bikes overflows any reasoning.
He likes to learn new thing about bike mechanics because he loves this area. He is a charismatic, active and creative person and is passionate about sports. Being a sports specialist is other of his goals. His dream is to participate in the three major races and become World Champion. He admires his father, his uncle and his grandfather, who has been encouraging him to join cycling by giving him advises and supporting him unconditionally.

ERICK PARRA

In order to improve and reach in a few years a professional team, Frank joined FUN Team. This is his first season. He started cycling due to his uncle, Leonel Martínez, who on his 6th birthday packed his first bike in gift paper. He’ll never forget that competition in Guaitarilla, Nariño. It was his debut in road cycling. He crossed the finish line in eighth place. With courage, the one that characterizes him, and the sensations moved him. He received a trophy that still shines on a shelf in his room.
Since childhood the cycle has been a mode of transport and also the source of his most fervent wishes. With a positive and cheerful personality, he is a dedicated person. His childhood was very beautiful. He visited husbandry, and played horn and “micro” with his friends. With love and generosity, he helps his parents by collecting and drying coffee, a drink he loves. He is also a fan of hiking. The most beautiful place you have visited, Laguna Verde, at the foot of the Galeras Volcano.

FRANK MARTÍNEZ
“I’m very thankful with FUN for this opportunity. I’m very happy with this team. It feels like a family. They provide us tools to follow and fight to achieve our dreams“
He started biking when he was twelve years old because of his uncle, Luis Alonso Irua, who was a professional cyclist and gave Jairo his first bike. Since he was a child, he has been helping his parents Rosalba and Servio Tulio in the butchery they have in his hometown. The hard work in the country has shaped his character and humbleness. He is responsible and always willing to help.
He had a happy childhood. Remembers how he used to play-hide and-seek and bike races with his brother and his school friends. He practices in the Ipiales-Pasto road in Nariño, Colombia. This is his first year with us and states that he has grown up a lot. He has been felling very comfortable and loved. He has learned how to be more organized and on time. Perseverance, sacrifice and discipline are the most important values of his life. Always being next to God.

JAIRO MARTÍN IRÚA
“I like to feel the freedom and joy that produces to ride a bike and the experiences you live in each place. Time passes and those experiences become unforgettable memories“
Honesty, discipline and responsibility. Those are the three value he has strengthening during his time in FUN Team. He feels that this stage of his life is preparing him to aspire for a better future. One of his hobbies is to cook, specially pasta, grilling and desserts. He is a team player and his parents are his role models. Almost 4 years ago he started to practice cycling full time. In his town he participated for the first time in a local race using a very old bike.
One cousin borrowed him a helmet, a uniform and shoes to be able to participate. Subsequently his cousin allowed him to keep the equipment and today, are Camilo’s treasure. His parents bought him his first bike. With the time and the distance covered, he started to fall in love with the sport. He believes that dreams are powerful and to follow them no matter the obstacles. His dream is to become world route champion and join a World Tour team.

JERSON CAMILO CÁCERES
“This team is very important to me. It is one step closer to accomplish my goals. I’m very thankful for this opportunity. There are many cyclists who come from little unknown towns like me. I want to show all my talent and potential that exists in those places“
He was born in Chiquizá, a little town in Boyacá in 2004 surrounded by a hardworking and humility family. His father, Elipio and his mother Ilda are the most important people in his life. Never give up and being disciplined and responsible has been their biggest lessons. He has a sister, Damaris, her friend and confidante. Since his early childhood he dreams with becoming a professional cyclist. When he was eleven, he joined the Escuela de Todos cycling academy in Samacá.
With the bless of his family and the earnings from his family’s milk business, José Álex got his first bike. He remembers it with great joy. In January 2019 he participated in the FUN’s trial outs and due to his dedication and talent, he was selected to join the team. Since then, he moved to Bogotá. Beside cycling, he enjoys to work in the country like milking and herding cuddle and harvesting potatoes. One of his best friends is Coposo, his dog which goes with him to any place he visits and when he gets back home form practice, says hi to him moving his tale.

JOSÉ ALEX LÓPEZ
“Right now I have all the strength and the will to aim for a better future. I wish to become a professional cyclist and make it to the European road and be important in the peloton“
Being exposed to the country life style where he was born, harvest onions, ‘uchuva’ and potatoes and milking every day in the morning, made him a strong and humble person. His parents Armando and Amparo, are the loves of his life. What he enjoys the most from cycling is that he is able to practice outdoors and also knowing that behind all the pain, is the glory. This is his first year in the FUN Team and before practicing road cycling, he used to do mountain bike. The first day of trial outs were tough but he feels he has improved significantly.
Having the support and that they recognize his talent, filled him of joy. When he was 15-year-old, he learned to pedal strong and even. Choachï, Iguaque, Fómeque, El Verjón, el Páramo de la Cuchilla, were his usual places to practice. He bought his first bike with some money he made from working in his neighbor’s the farm. He is an honest, respectful hopeful person. His dream is to contribute for a better future for his family.

KEVIN ARMANDO PÉREZ
“Never give up towards the problems and the pain, that is my motto. My dream is to become a professional cyclist, break records, achieve my goal, but specially to overachieve myself“
Marlon was five years old when he had his first encounter with a bike. It was red, he did not forget. Since he was child, he desired to be a cyclist. His father, Mardoqueo, is a computer teacher and his mother, Olga Maria works at home knitting and crafting traditional Colombian handcrafts. He is the second boy of three siblings. His father is his loyal squire. He always drives his motorcycle behind Marlon during practices
Marlon’s first cycling academy was Capital Bike and this is his first year with us. He is a competitive and strategic cyclist. He stands out in the flat and time-trail stages but he also enjoys the mountain. In FUN he feels he has been improving and that every day he learns something new. One of his hobbies is reading and his favorite book is “Sangre de Campeones” written by Carlos Cuathémoc Sánchez. He also likes to swim, run and work out. He admires Esteban and today he is accomplishing one of his dreams, practice with passion and develop all his potential.

MARLON DÍAZ
“What catches me of cycling is the dedication and discipline needed to perform. It also gives you the chance to measure and over pass your own limits“
During his childhood in Cienaga, he used to help his parents in the country to milk and harvest potatoes. He is the second child of three siblings. Miguel highlights for his humor and adventurous spirit. His father José Faustino and his mother María Critina are the light of his life. He is a very humble and kind teenager. He started to ride bike when he was eight-year-old. This is his first year in the FUN team and during this short process he has learned that discipline and effort are very important to achieve goals and dreams. He loves to travel and get to know new people from different cultures.
One of his most remarkable trips was in 2012 when he went to San Andrés and saw the sea for the first time. His first experiences with the bike was genuine. He started with and old, heavy, made of iron bike that he inherits from his father. After saving for months and selling family ruffles, he got a new and less heavy road bike. He dreams with becoming a professional cyclist and compete with great people around historic places around the world.

MAYCOL CORREA
“I’m very happy in FUN team. I like the time they send on us, the support of different specialists so we don’t lack anything. I feel part of the project. I enjoy the present and future is going to make us stronger“
Oscar is very friendly, persistent and funny, when he was younger, his illusion was to go with his father Oscar to the cardboard factory and help him with his daily work to ride bike with him thorough the west streets of Bogotá. After long insistence, his father bought him a Mountain Bike when he was eleven year. He likes to spend time with his family, sharing conversations or playing parchis. He loves movies and one of his favorite one is Bright with Will Smith.
Both his parents Oscar and Diana, have conveyed him the values of discipline and responsibility to overcome difficulties. This is his second year in our team. His best achievements with FUN are: top five in the Vuelta al Futuro, second place in the National Championship and stage winner in the Vuelta del Porvenir. He dreams with making it to the World Tour in order to compete in major races and be a protagonist.

ÓSCAR BLANCO
“Well done hard work beats talent poorly worked“
His story in cycling started in the Volcán Andino Club in his hometown. He was nine years old when he rode his bike for the first time through the mountains of Nariño. With more kilometers he covered, more he liked it. Riding through his region has enhance his resistance, strength and endurance. His father Eduard Armando is a farmer and his mother Magaly del Carmen is a house wife. He knows how to harvest potatoes, corn, beans and wheat.
This is his third year in the FUN Team and his biggest achievements are: third place in the Vuelta al Futuro, champion of the Clásica de Soacha in 2018 and second place in the Clásica Esteban Chaves in 2019. Become a better person and learned how to be a better team mate are his biggest learnings in the FUN Team. He likes to share with his friends and play volleyball. He dreams with doing things right, improve his performance in cycling and join the national team and a professional international team. The goal is to make it to the World Tour. He admires Esteban Chaves because of his spirit of never giving up.

PAULO CÉSAR PANTOJA
“I always try to face challenges in life with good attitude. I believe that the most important thing is to enjoy and give the best of you all the time, specially when it’s what you decided to do for living“
He is a happy, extrovert and centered person. He remembers that he got his first bike during his third birth day. Some years after, wanting to improve his cycling skills, he joined the Kronos Club. Then in 2018 he participated in the trail outs of the FUN Team and joined it. His biggest achievements are: seventh place in the Clásica de Soacha 2018 and ninth in the race organized by the Club Deportivo Boyacá. During this process, he assures that he has evolved physically and mentally.
Besides cycling, he likes to play chess. He also likes to watch movies and read. One year ago, he graduated from Liceo Riobamba high school. During his time in the FUN Team he has learned to be more professional, take care of his nutrition and keep his body healthy. He dreams with becoming a professional cyclist and give back to his family all the love and support they have been giving to him.

SANTIAGO GRANADOS SUÁREZ
“I’m very happy for being part of this project which besides supporting young cyclists in his personal and professional development, they also support children with orthopedic problems and multiply smiles. It’s an honor“
Chosen to be part of our team in January 2020, since the under 18 category he has learned to be more discipline, patient, perseverant and supportive with his teammates. Knowing that the whole team has the same goal, becoming better human beings and athletes, make him fell around family. One hobby of this young extrovert, friendly and dreamers is painting and drew Mandalas. He also like to read. One of his favorite authors is Mario Mendoza.
His parents are the engine of his life, who encourage him to do thing with love. His dream is to give them back all the things that they have given him and them being able to see him racing in Europe. Since he was a child, he felt a special connection with the bike, which he used to ride everywhere. He decided to devote his life to cycling one Sunday when he was riding to go to play soccer with his friends. He joined one groups of cyclists and they got to the Alto del Vino. One achievement that moved the deepest parts of his heart.
