Great day for FUN Box partnered with Scotiabank in Boyacá
More than 35 children and teenagers of the Club Escuela de Ciclismo Orgullo Santarroseño received sports equipment that stimulate the practice of cycling and multiply their smiles.
We traveled to Santa Rosa de Viterbo in the state of Boyacá for a new day of FUN Box, our foundation’s sports equipment donation strategy. We chose the Club Escuela de Ciclismo Orgullo Santarroseño, because their great contribution to the development of recreational and competitive cycling in that region since 2012. For them, the bike is a tool of social transformation and source of health and life.
For this occasion, Scotiabank was our partner. This company has a social responsibility program and generously, they donated a large package of cycling equipment. About 35 children and teenagers who love to ride bike, happily received helmets, uniforms, T-shirts, trousers, caps, socks among other. We also take the opportunity to donate FUN team uniforms and bring them our message.Nilson Morales is the treasurer of the Club Escuela de Ciclismo Orgullo Santarroseño: «We are very grateful with FUN and Scotiabank. This visit was very nice, an unique event in the town. The teenagers were very happy and motivated to go persue their dreams and life projects».
For Juan Felipe Silva, brand director of FUN, these kind of activities bring joy to the heart. «In FUN we build bridges and go to places where help does not normally appear. Beyond handing over the implements, we are telling all these children that they should never stop dreaming. It’s very exciting to see how happy they are with these details”, he said.Hidaly Daniela Sucerquia Morales is 8 years old and is one of the members of that cycling academy. «We are happy. The donation day was very cool. I receive a cycling uniform and other gifts to ride bike. Thanks to FUN!», she said. Faber Manuel Cucaita is 19 years old and is happy too. «These support means a lot. They allow me to motivate myself even more to continue training and overcome myself».
Sport is life
We are grateful with Scotiabank! Their help is a great stimulus in the lives of many children who, due to lack of equipment, stop practicing sports. We are also thankful to the people who somehow contact us to get involved in the strategy. It transforms lives and contribute to the future of our children.
With the FUN Box strategy, we recover well-maintained implements and garments and give them a new use and value.
