Excited to see former FUN bike riders built a startup

Sep 11, 2020 | News

Four young men met during their time in FUN cycling team and made a beautiful friendship. Today they are the founders of startup, VisionCycling. We are happy to see them grow!

For us the bike is a tool for social and personal transformation that allows us grow, evolve and be better human beings. Our main objective in FUN’s sports area is to develop great people and  bike riders. Therefore, we encourage  values that will serve them for life.

Several from our bike riders finished their process and become entrepreneurs in the cycling indsutry. One example is VisionCycling, a very interesting project where seven young folks work. Four of them used to be members of our team: Andrey Rodríguez, Felipe Rubiano, David Mateo Granados and Santiago Puentes. The rest of the them are Samuel Sarmiento, Jhon Alejandro Solano and Óscar Camargo.

«We are very happy to see new projects related to cycling from young people that were part of our sports project. That they are good people, with values for life, is what we work and what we are most interested in as the foundation», said Jairo Chaves, FUNS’s manager director.

Santiago Puentes is a physiotherapy student, and he is excited for this new stage. «We decided to start because we identified a series of problems that affect many road bike riders including accident and theft. We wanted to put this project together and provide a quality full service that protects, meets the needs and contributes to the satisfaction of bike riders», he said.

This project aims to build a community of bike riders from all categories sharing similar values, able to train safely, confidently and comfortably, and passionate about cycling. For David Mateo, every stage has to be lived with intensity. «I have very nice memories of my time at FUN. The development we experienced in the team was very beautiful and important because of the things we learned and moment we lived . Although we did not make it to  professional bike racing, cycling shaped our character through  discipline. Sport is essential to life».
