One step better!!
With a top-15 from Nico Gómez and the chasuble 10 in the team classification we say goodbye to the Vuelta del Porvenir 2021. We lived five days of emotions!! Congratulations to the team for their dedication and desire to grow.
It all started in Sopó. From there he participated in the first stage of the most important youth race in Colombian cycling. In total, five stages were run, including the time trial in Somondoco and the circuit in Sogamoso, which put an end to the competition.
Boyacá was the epicenter of this event organized by the Colombian Cycling Federation. We participated with five cyclists in training who went from less to more in their performance, a reflection of the manifest intention to improve stage after stage and to surpass themselves.
In addition to seeing the dream of these young riders come true, in line with our slogan #LosSueñosSeCumplen, and the valuable lessons that are learned only by competing, the most important sporting results were the 15th place overall by Nicolás Gómez, who also finished ninth in the third stage from Machetá to Tunja.
Montaña and Gómez completed a very good time trial finishing in box 26 and 27 respectively. Dani Zorro was ranked 12th in the fourth stage from Villa de Leyva to Santa Rosa de Viterbo. Also, in the team classification, we were 10th out of 32.
The support staff that accompanied these cyclists was made up of Jairo Chaves, general director of FUN Chaves, Wilson Sandoval, sports director and coach of the youth category, Paula Álvarez, (physiotherapist), Gelvis Santamaría (mechanic) Alexander Palacios (assistant of mechanics) and Camilo Fuentes (logistics coordinator).
